Challenge
Gardner Bender approached IDS to create a family of multifunctional hand tools that featured the circuit alert technology and reinforced their product brand language.
Approach
Critical to this project was listening to and understanding the client’s needs. The Industrial Design team created a series of concepts that focused on functionality, ergonomics, and key brand design features. The engineering team developed these concepts into manufacturing-ready part and assembly databases.
Solution
The Circuit Alert multifunctional hand tools are easily identifiable as a Gardner Bender product. This family includes a utility knife, lineman’s pliers, wire strippers, screwdrivers, and a flashlight among others.
