Challenge
Current film dispensers require the user to remove the roll from the box to use. TableCraft charged IDS with rethinking this workflow and providing more options for the user. The system needed to be made the commercial restaurant environment in mind.
Approach
The IDS team performed competitor research to better understand the product and environment in which it is used. Our team worked as an extension of the TableCraft team to come up with a wide range of concepts. These were refined and prototyped to test functionality. A final concept was created with tooling ready databases being provided to TableCraft.
Solution
The Rapid Wrap allows the user to work in a traditional way or to place the entire box and roll of film or foil into the unit. This flexibility allows for a simpler user experience while creating a more user-friendly operation than the current market leaders.
